Video Clip Chayanne Si Nos Quedara Poco TiempoChayanne, one of the most successful pop stars of Puerto Rico with more than 10 million records sold worldwide, had international hits like Tiempo de Vals, Tu Pirata Soy Yo and Y Tu Te Vas. In April 2007 the latin star released his 20th album called Mi Tiempo (My Time).

The first single of the album is Si Nos Quedara Poco Tiempo which went to number 1 in Argentina and in Chile and was a top ten hit in other latin american countries. It’s a ballad about the thought “if there’s little time left for us and I have not said enough that I adore you with my life”.

Si Nos Quedara Poco Tiempo is a great song and inspires thinking about the ones we love.

Filed under: Cumbia, Pop on Thursday, June 7th, 2007 by Miguelito | 19 Comments

Video Clip Fanny L - No Te Pido FloresFanny Lú comes from Colombia and her first album Lágrimas Cálidas spent 5 weeks at number 1 in the colombian charts. Before her musical career she was a TV presenter and later played a role in the native telenovela Perro Amor.

Lágrimas Cálidas (Warm Tears) was produced by Emilio Esteban, the husband of Gloria Estefan and it includes lots of great songs. No Te Pido Flores (I don’t beg you for flowers) is one of them and is a mixture of Latin Pop and Cumbia.

The single was a huge hit in Colombia in 2006 and hopefully Fanny Lú can extend her success throughout the world.

Ridge & Joyce (Allianstars 2) - Cette Nuit

Filed under: Zouk on Sunday, June 3rd, 2007 by Miguelito | 5 Comments

Video Clip Ridge & Joyce (Allianstars 2) - Cette NuiteLast year I have been on vacations with a friend on Martinique (French Antilles) and while driving in the car we were listening to a local radio station. On Martinique Zouk is very popular and in July 2006 Cette Nuit (This night) by Ridge & Joyce (or also named as Allianstars 2) was played nearly throughout the whole day.

But our french was too bad to understand the title of the song or the name of the artists so we had to leave Martinique without knowing the origin of this great song.

But with luck and not giving up nearly 1 year later I finally found the singers of Cette Nuit. I can not say how happy I am to have discovered this precious piece of Zouk again. It is one of the nicest Zouk Love songs but decide for yourself if you like it.

Shy’m - Victoire

Filed under: R&B on Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 by Miguelito | 1 Comment

Video Clip Shym - VictoireIn 2006 Shy’m released her first album Mes Fantaisies, which reached position 6 in the french charts. All songs were produced by the french rapper K’Maro who had a european hit in 2004 with Femme Like U. The first single Femme de couleur of the album Mes Fantaisies went to number 5 in the french charts.

Victoire (Victory) was released in Februar 2007 as the follow-up and and went to 4 in France. Victoire is a smooth R&B song with a great chorus. My french isn’t good enough to understand the words but it’s not necessary to like it.

The album Mes Fantaisies has lots of other great songs on it and can be recommended to all R&B lovers.

Lord Kossity - Hotel Room feat. Chico & Nicky B

Filed under: Dance on Thursday, May 24th, 2007 by Miguelito | No Comments

Video clip Lord Kossity - Hotel Room (feat. Chico & Nicky B)On my trip on Rodrigues (Indian Ocean) I had the chance to watch some french music videos. One song that had caught my attention was Hotel Room by the Ragga-Dancehall artist Lord Kossity featuring Chico & Nicky B. The song is a mixture of Rap in french and english with a chorus about a guy waiting in the hotel room for his girl.

The music video was filmed mainly on the beautiful island of La Réunion, which is an overseas department of France. As I have been there once, I remembered locations like the waterfall Cascade Takamaka and the volcanical area of the Piton des Neiges which you can see in the video.

Hotel Room by Lord Kossity is a great sommer song for hot days.

Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)

Filed under: Pop on Thursday, May 24th, 2007 by Miguelito | No Comments

Video Clip Enrique Iglesias - Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song)I have been browsing Youtube recently and by coincidence I discoverd the world premiere of Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song) by Enrique Iglesias. As I liked his famous hits Bailamos, Hero and Escape a lot, I was quite curious about his new song.

And I have not been disappointed by. The song starts with the rhythm of table tennis and leads into a catchy chorus where he sings about how one ‘feels when you love someone that is in a rush to throw you away’. Do You Know is a “classic” Enrique Iglesias Latin Pop song which has a good chance to continue his former world wide success.

He also made a spanish version Dimelo (Tell it to me) which is also good but in my opinion the english version is better. It seems to me that the song was originally written in english, but I have no proof for that until now.

Do You Know (The Ping Pong Song) is taken from his latest album Insomniac, which will be released on the 12th of June 2007.

Fergie - Big Girls Don’t Cry

Filed under: Pop on Thursday, May 17th, 2007 by Miguelito | No Comments

Video Clip Fergie - Big Girls Dont CryAt the beginning, I was a bit disappointed of Fergie’s solo album The Dutchess when I listened to it for the first time. I had expected a bit more from the Black Eyed Peas lead singer for a solo career. The singles London Bridge and Fergalicious were in my point of view a bit weak for the start, although the first one was a huge international hit.

The 3rd and by far better single Glamourous changed my mind about Fergie and I must admit that, with the latest release Big Girls Don’t Cry, Fergie shows her real strength. The song begins quite slow and seems a bit boring in the beginning. But when she starts singing the chorus you realise that it’s a great pop song with a huge hit potential.

At the time of writing, Big Girls Don’t Cry is at number 41 (up from 51) in the American Billboard Single Charts. And I dare me to say that the song is a real candidate for number one, not only in the US, but also in other countries. Go, Fergie!

Alejandro Sanz & Shakira - Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No

Filed under: Pop on Thursday, May 17th, 2007 by Miguelito | 2 Comments

Video Clip Alejandro Sanz & Shakira - Te lo agradezco, pero noIn 2005 Shakira and Alejandro Sanz had a wordwide hit with their first duet La Tortura (the torture), which made it to number one in many countries. And it seems that both artists have liked their work together and they have decided to record another song.

Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No (I appreciate it, but no) is taken from Alejandro Sanz’s latest album El Tren de los Momentos, which originally he had sung alone. In this new version, Shakira joins him in the middle of the song and forms it to another masterpiece of the duo.

Compared to La Turtura, Te Lo Agradezco, Pero No is totally different and follows more the style of Alejandro Sanz. The song was already number one in Spain and other hispanic countries and hopefully gets more success in the rest of the world soon.

Jennifer Peña - Como Entender (Version Cumbia)

Filed under: Cumbia on Wednesday, May 16th, 2007 by Miguelito | No Comments

Jennifer Peña - Como Entender (Version Cumbia)In 1996, Jennifer Peña sung in the movie “Selena” as the young superstar, and over 10 years later, she has released her 7th studio album called Dicen que el tiempo (They say that the time). It must be seen as her best production so far with great pop and cumbia songs as well as wonderful ballads on it.

Como Entender (how to understand) is the first single release of the album and in general a sad ballad about loosing the loved one and to understand the consequences of life. There are two versions of the song, the normal ballad and another one in cumbia style which is a bit faster.

Jennifer Peña is already a huge star in the latin music scene and maybe with her latest album she can get access even to a wider audience.
