Nadiya, a french Pop and R&B artist, had several top ten hits in France like Parle Moi (Talk to me), Tous ces mots (All these words) and Roc (Rock). Her self titled album Nadiya sold more than 500.000 copies and was number one in France.

In November, Nadiya has released her latest album La Source (The Source) which includes the single Vivre ou Survivre (Live or survive). The video for the song was filmed on the island La Réunion and it looks like an episode of a survival show. The song combined with the beautiful nature are a perfect match.

Vivre ou Survivre is a catchy dance tune and with this song Nadiya should reach the top ten in France again. And with luck she gets success in other countries as well.

Britney Spears career began in late 1998 with the release of her first world wide number one hit Baby One More Time with following hits like Lucky, Toxic and Everytime. Since 2004 musicallywise it was very quiet for Britney Spears and the media attention was more focused on the failed marriages with childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander and later with the back-up dancer Kevin Federline and the birth of her two children.

Since then the media has always attacked Britney Spears whenever it was possible, like when she stayed in a drug rehabilitation factiliy in Antigua or when she shaved her hair off with clippers completely. For this reason it was nearly impossible to think that the former successful lady might have the slightest chance of a comeback, but all her critics were wrong.

On August 30th debuted Gimme More, a track produced by Nate “Danja” Hills, and the lyrics can be seen as an direct answer to the media critics regarding Britney Spears. The song is perfectly produced and when you listen to it you just can’t control yourself not moving your body to the rhythm of the music. It’s a gemstone in the music business and Britney Spears will return to the pole position again. Congratulations Britney and Danja, you’ve done a great work and I believe no one has seen this one coming!

Camila is a mexican trio which consists of Mario Domm, Samo and Pablo Hurtado. Their debut album Todo Cambio (Everything Changed) was released in May 2006 and contained the hit singles Abrazame, Todo Cambio and Coleccionista de Canciones and was a huge success in Mexico, the United States and Central America.

In August 2007 was the release of the Special Edition of Todo Cambio which included the bonus track Solo Para Ti (Only For You). The song is about the love of the life which has just appeared in the destiny of a man. It’s such a romantic ballad and the spanish lyrics speak for themself.

Solo Para Ti is number 5 in the mexican charts at the moment and it wouldn’t surprise me if it would climb higher. Thanks to Camila for this great song.

In 2005 colombian singer Juanes had a worldwide number one hit with his single La Camisa Negra (The black shirt), taken from his album Mi Sangre (My Blood) which also was selling in huge numbers throughout the world.

In June 2006 he decided to make a break to dedicade more time to his wife and his children. In the meantime he started working on his 4th studio album called La Vida Es un Ratico (Life Is Short) which will be released on the 23rd of October 2007.

The first single release is Me Enamora (I fall in love) which is a catchy latin pop song which follows the footsteps of La Camisa Negra. Juanes sings about the woman he falls in love with and that he hopes that she falls in love with him, too. Me Enamora has the chance to repeat his former success with La Camisa Negra, I wish it Juanes, because he is a great singer and musician, good luck!

Only recently I learned about Alejandro Fernandez when a mexican friend of mine had orded with me the latest disc Viento A Favor (Wind In Favour) when I visited the beautiful island of Mallorca.

While back in Germany, we were listening to the disc together with friends and immediately I fell in love with his music. Especially Te Voy A Perder (I will loose you) is one of best romantic ballads within music history. Listening to it makes you feel what Alejandro Fernandez wanted to express with his song.

As my most loved cat Mucki had died only a few days ago, I dedicate Te Voy A Perder especially to him, because I had such a strong connection with him and when I listen to the song, it reminds me of him.

The album Viento A Favor includes such great music that everyone who likes romantic and soulful music must buy it, you won’t regret it! It’s number one since weeks in Mexico and also sells in big numbers in the United States and in Spain.

Zion, originally from Puerto Rico, had several Reggaeton hits with the duo Zion y Lennox like Yo Voy and earned a gold plague for Motivando A La Yal in 2004. As the duo has split, Zion released his first solo project The Perfect Melody in June 2007.

Zun Da Da was released as a single and is by far one of the best Reggaeton tracks within the past time. The melodic song with the catchy chorus immediately attracts attention and won’t get out of your head soon.

The lyrics are Zion-like very romantic, in the chorus he sings “I will kiss you until I feel you, I’ll invent a world for the two of us, I’ll embrace you and you’ll feel my warmth, we’ll make sex with our clothes on, this will be between you and me”. Zun Da Da has the perfect melody, congratulations Zion, this is Reggaeton at its best.

As I listened to all the tracks of the album The Perfect Melody I can recommend it to anybody who likes melodic and catchy Reggaeton music, a must buy this year.

Until now I haven’t heard of Los Ilegales before but as I am a big fan of the Bachata duo Monchy y Alexandra I discovered their video of La Otra. Los Ilegales is a so called merenhouse group and was formed in the Dominican Republic. Their music is a mixture of Merengue and electronic music and became quite popular in Venezuela, Mexico, Chile and Spain.

La Otra is a co-production together with the singer Alexandra and as she normally sings Bachata the song is a funky mixture of Bachata and dance music which immediately seduces to move your body. La Otra is a great song and Los Ilegales and Alexandra should record more songs together.

La Otra is taken from the album La Republica and includes lots of other good songs of Los Ilegales.

Xtreme could become the next Bachata sensation after the phenomenal success of Aventura (Obsesion, Cuando Volveras). The duo consists of Danny Mejia and Steven Tejada who were born and grown up in the Bronx with parents from the Dominican Republic.

Their self-titled debut album Xtreme with the club favorite Te Extraño was released in April 2006. Their second album Haciendo Historia came out half a year later and included lots of Bachata and some R&B tracks.

Shorty Shorty was released as the first single and this was a good choice. The catchy Bachata song with mixed spanish and english lyrics demonstrates what Xtreme are capable of and demands for more. Shorty Shorty and other great songs can all be found on their recommendable album Haciendo Historia.

La Oreja De Van Gogh is one of Spains most successful rock and pop group. In 1998 the band released their debut album Dile al Sol and sold over 700.000 copies in their native country. Until now, La Oreja De Van Gogh (translated: The Ear Of Van Gogh) have sold over 6 million copies of their albums world wide.

Muñeca De Trapo was the first single from their 4th album Guapa and is one of their best and successful songs. The brilliant voice of singer Amaia Montero forms it into a musical and outstanding masterpiece and deserved to be a huge hit. It was number one in Spain for 5 weeks, 7 weeks number one in Chile, 3 weeks number one in Argentina and stayed for 2 weeks at the pole position in Mexico.

The album Guapa, which was re-released with 14 new tracks as Más Guapa, contains lots of great songs and can be recommended to anyone who likes good rock and pop music.

Christophe Willem won in 2006 the french casting show “Nouvelle Star”. The popular contestant surprised the judges and the audience with his performances, although he was called La Tortue (The Turtle) because of his weird voice.

In 2006 Christophe Willem released his first single Sunny which climbed to number 3 in the french and to number 17 in the swiss charts. The debut album Inventaire (Inventory) was released on April 16th 2007.

The 2nd single Double Je (Double I) is a perfect produced and catchy dance tune which is number one in the french charts for the 4th week now. The video clip of Double Je is remarkable as well and underlines the unique character of Christophe Willem.
