GRANDES EXITOS

In one of my last researches in the world wide charts I discovered a little gem in the Argentinian Charts. Gabriel Julio Fernández Capello, better known with his stage name Vicentico, was born 1964 in Buenos Aires and started his musical career 1985 with the group Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.

In 2002 he released his first solo album Vicentico with further works like Los Rayos (2004), Los Pájaros (2006) and Hits 2002-2008 (2008).

September 2010 saw the release of his 5th studio album Solo Un Momento (Only A Moment) and the first single release had caught my attention in the argentinian charts. Solo Un Momento (Only A Moment) is a song with a very driving message about finding the love and the way to get there.

It was Top 3 in Argentina in November and December 2010 and also a hit in other latin american countries.

Fans of Chayanne had to wait nearly 3 years for his latest studio album called No Hay Imposible which was released in February 2010. It entered the Billboard charts at #23 and went already to number one in the Billboard Latin Album Charts.

Me Enamoré De Tí has been published in November 2009 before the release of the album as it’s also used as the theme song for the mexican soap opera Corazón Salvaje which is broadcasted in over 60 countries.

The romantic ballad of Chayanne has made its way into the top ten of the Latin Billboard Charts and is already Top 20 in Mexico at the moment.

Alejandro Sanz, born 1968 in Madrid, is one of Spain’s most successful music artist with more than 15 won Latin Grammy awards and over 25 million sold copies worldwide. So far he has released 8 studio albums and is most well known for his collaboration with Shakira on her worldwide hit La Tortura.

The first single of his latest album Paraiso Express was a duet with Alicia Keys called Looking for Paradise and although it went to number one in the Latin Billboard Charts and in Spain, many fans didn´t like it because it was too different from Alejandros previous work.

Desde Cuando (Since when) has been selected as the 2nd single of Paraiso Express and follows the more traditional music style of Alejandro.  It has already topped the Spanish charts in March 2010 and is steadily rising in the Latin Billboard Charts at the moment.

Desde Cuando is a wonderful piece of music and marks Alejandro Sanz’ outstanding musical talent. In the music video stars Eva Longoria who plays Gabrielle Solis in the series Desperate Housewives.

After the huge success of Tito El Bambino with  El Amor the Reggaeton star of Puerto Rico must have been fallen in love with the tropical latin sound as he has rereleased his album El Patron as an enhanced version El Patron: La Victoria with two new songs and remixes of El Amor and Mi Cama Huele A Ti.

Te Pido Perdon, one of the new songs, is a mixture of Pop and Salsa and proves again that Tito El Bambino is more capable of than only Reggaeton and this fits him really well.

Te Pido Perdon is already climbing into the Top Ten of the Latin Billboard Charts and it wouldn´t surprise if it repeats the success of El Amor.

The Mexican band Camila had a huge success with their first album Todo Cambió including the 2007 released hit single Solo Para Ti. After winning several awards at Premios Juventud and Premios LoNuestro they have taken their time out to work on their second studio album Dejarte Amar which was finally released in February 2010.

Todo Cambió had already a fine selection of songs but with Dejarte Amar Camila have even bypassed the highest expectations we could have had on their follow up work. Mientes is the first single release of the album and you can only imagine how good the other songs must be when you listen to this song.

Mientes follows the successful footsteps of their previous hits. It already went to number one in Mexico and is climbing the Top Ten of the Latin Billboard Charts at the moment.

Wisin y Yandel are one of the most successful Reggaeton duos from Puerto Rico and have released several albums with hits like Sexy Movimiento, Ahora Es, Me Estas Tentando, Abusadora and Gracias A Ti.

They also worked together with artists like David Bisbal, Aventura, Luis Fonsi, Gloria Estefan and Nelly Furtado for doing Reggaeton remixes of their hits.

Their latest release La Evolucion (The Evolution) is an enhanced version of La Revolucion which includes new remixes of the previous album and also five new songs. Te Siento (I feel you) has been chosen for a single release in december 2009 and is now climbing slowly but surely the Latin Billboard Charts.

Wisin y Yandel have recently been very successful in Mexico and I hope that Te Siento will follow this success not only there but in other countries as well with their fresh and powerful Reggaeton sound.

Alejandro Fernandez had one of the biggest hits in 2007 with Te Voy A Perder which was number one in the Billboard Latin Charts, in Mexico, Spain and lots of other Latin American countries. Two years later, Alejandro released not just one but two new albums, one called Dos Mundos: Evolucion (Two Worlds: Evolution) and the other Dos Mundos: Tradicion (Two Worlds: Tradition).

Each of the albums contains a different style of music: Evolucion with pop songs and ballads and Tradicion with more mexican music like Mariachi and Ranchera. Se Me Va La Voz was released as the first single from Evolucion and climbed already high in nearly all Latin American Charts.

Alejandro Fernandez did also a Remix of Se Me Va La Voz together with the Reggaeton artist Tito El Bambino which with no doubt will make its way on to the dance floors. (Remix on Youtube)

Luis Fonsi, born in Puerto Rico y later grown up in Orlando (Florida) is already a very well known latin pop star since 1998 with hits like Quien te dijo eso, La Fuerza de mi Corazon,  Nada es para siempre or Estoy Perdido.

His seventh studio album Palabras del silencio was released in August 2008 and has sold over 30.000 copies in the US within the first week and was also certified Oro (Gold) and Platinum by the RIAA for over 200.000 sales in the United States.

The first single of the album No Me Doy Por Vencido is Luis Fonsi’s biggest hit to date which reached #92 of the Top 100 Billboard Charts, #1 in the Latin Billboard Charts and #1 in the charts of Puerto Rico. Actually it´s no wonder because it´s a romantic ballad with some mexican influences which won´t get out of your head for some time. Great work by Luis Fonsi.

One of the biggest hits of the former reggaeton duo Hector y Tito was Baila Morena in 2003 which had a huge impact in the reggaeton scene. After six studio albums Hector y Tito had decided to go seperate ways in 2006 to start solo careers.

Tito El Bambino released in March 2009 his third album called “El Patron which includes the hit single El Amor. Although the song does not follow the reggaeton origins it could be closest described as a mixture of Pop, Cumbia and a bit of Reggaeton and Salsa.

El Amor has already topped the Bill Board Latin Charts and stays in the top ten of many other Latin American Charts, not only because of the unique sound, but also because of the catchy and romantic lyrics. Let´s hope with this song Tito El Bambino will conquer the world.

Carlos Baute, famous singer and actor from Venezuela, released in 2008 his hit album “De Mi Puño y Letra” only to follow up a collectors edition with a new version of “Colgando En Tus Manos” as well as two extra tracks and two remixes.

I already found the song “Colgando En Tus Manos” very catchy and at first when I heard the new version together with Marta Sanchez (a well known singer in Spain), I had to get used to it. But after listening for a while I really fell in love with it and the two voices match perfectly together.

“Colgando En Tus Manos” is already at number 2 in Spain and in the top ten in lots of latin american charts. A great song with romantic lyrics which come from the heart.
